Think about the shaving/grooming tool/s you use most often and describe how the
decision was made to purchase them. Did you buy them or did a significant other? Did
anyone else influence the purchase? Was any research done ahead of time or was it a
spontaneous purchase? What was the “trigger” for the purchase?

I choose to purchase a Remington trimmer based on the experience that my past few trimmers have broke and the Remington trimmer advertised that it was unbreakable.
And my razor, I purchased many before never liking the plastic or light weight of the metal, until I reached my current razor handle which has a good amount of weight to it.
I have bought all my grooming products.
I have not had anyone influence my purchases.
There was no research preformed , just shop and compare at the store.
trigger??? I just had a need to shave and shopping for the razor and trimmer fulfilled the need.
Where did you purchase the shaving/grooming tool/s you use most often? Why there?
List the stores you would most likely consider if shopping for a new electric
shaving/grooming tool now & why?
List the stores you would most likely consider if shopping for a new electric
shaving/grooming tool now & why?
My shopping lately has been at the local walmart. why? its not for the great product selection , or best price, , , It just happens to be the only store outside of a grocery store that sells grooming supplies within 50 miles of me,
Prior to living here, I would shop, best buy, Kohls, Target, or I would search online to find a retailer that carried the product that I was searching.
I consider these stores because they tend to carry what you can not find at the local walmart, and their selections are smaller vs the giant, but they tend to have the item I had been searching for.
For this blog, you’ll go to a physical store (one of those mentioned in #2, but not a grocery
store), take photos & record your thoughts to the questions below: After you return home,
you can write about your findings on your blog.
a. Go to the electric shave/groom tools. Take a picture & write 3 words that describe
how you feel as you look at your options. Describe why?
b. Note a few things that stand out to you & get your attention: this could be wording,
packaging, an interesting product, etc. Snap pictures & explain why each of these
things gets your attention.
c. Choose 2 products (take photos!) you’d be most likely to buy. Describe what
specifically makes each appeal to you? How does each seem different or better than
what you have now?
d. Note a few products, that while relevant, don’t seem as interesting or appealing to you
(with photos). Describe why you feel that way about each?

3 word to talk about this is,
why,price,difference
I would choose these words because looking at them, knowing most of the products are owned by the same parent company, knowing that they all have similar looks, and they all are made to do the same thing,,, so why will you have so many options with so many different prices, how can 2 products made to do the same thing, look the same, have a price difference of $20- $140
What is the difference between these tools?
(letter b) this is really the most interesting thing that stood out to me, that you could have basically the same thing, in so many different boxes with so many different prices. Seeing all those price tags,,,and it just seems to me that they are price testing the same product,
This seems better than what I have now because I get the best shave with the single trimming blade on the back of my razor, so I feel less blades may work better than what I have now,,,
I would buy the Gillette because it would fit on my handle, and I would like to try the equate brand because it is still 1 heads, but less than half the cost, that is pretty good seeing that even my new costly Gillette blades get dull from being exposed to air,,, it would be best not to invest allot of $$ if the product will expire with dullness being exposed to air.
But in my experience, walmart brand vs name brand has a 50/50 chance of being the same or worse,
but it tends to be similar, , , except with the walmart Oreo cookies,, they are for sure much worse,
So I would expect that if people pay less, they will have a more patient outlook on the product,
Paying more leave very little room for disappointment in the product, but if you paid less than you expected than even if the product is not up to par you'd likely weigh the price difference into your decision whether or not you care about the bad quality.
These products don't catch my attention other thank to wonder why thy are still on the shelf.
I have never seen the appeal or enjoyed using micro trimmers. They have a good sales pitch but in my lifestyle, they don't hold practicality value,,, they can trim and shave any type of hair you may have but thats only on the box, once you take it for a test run,,you notice that this horrible product is now used,,and you can't get your money back. . . impulse buy gone bad.
While still in the store, note the Remington products:
a. Overall, what are your impressions of the Remington brand vs. other brands, (like
Braun & Norelco)? Why?
b. What does Remington seem to do well (in terms of features, technology, design,
certain kinds of products, etc.)? What specifically makes you say that?
c. What does Remington seem to do less well? What makes you say that?
d. Any surprises about Remington now that you’ve looked around – if so, what?
e. Once you get home, describe who you imagine as the typical Remington customer &
upload 1-2 Google Images that fit.

First impression is, Hey, I know that brand name... and Weird? I thought they made guns and multi tools,,, not trimmers?
But when you know the brand quality, and you see the price difference below the main trimmer/shaver brands... its worth looking at Remington
I can say I have had knifes and multi tools that I felt were great priced despite the products breaking, but in general, I feel it is a trusted brand that I'm seeing in allot of fields and when they have quality/price matched the way they do, its easy to remain loyal as you get what you pay for.
Remington seems to outsource allot of their secondary products that is seen in the quality aspect of their reputation,,, but their name is always know as a great product despite some products having no business being sold to consumers,,, you would believe that a few poor quality items would kill a businesses reputation, but this company keeps moving forward at a turtles pace ,,, holding strong as a great company no matter what hurtles they cross.
Surprise would definitely be, what is Remington doing in the shaving section,,, but looking over their products available its nice to see that they seem to have a model to combat any of the main shaving companies products.
I'd imagine that any type of person would buy a Remington brand product. The brand is not social class related, its just widely respected as a great brand, True, Guns are the first thing to come to mind, but after you realize that they really make other products, your respect for the company takes over...
I purchased a Remington product,, I live the size and weighted feel in my hand, it works well, but I think for the price it works great, but I would like that it would trim hairs the first pass, without taking multiple passes to get the hairs, leaving the trimmers hot before the hair trimming is completed.
Reflecting on everything you’ve blogged about this past week, create a NEW Remington
product that would be ideal for you. Describe how it would be designed (feel free to
upload a sketch!), specifically what it would do, what features it would have & how it is
different from what you use or is available today. Specifically, what needs/wishes does it
meet & why is this important?

Id like to restate my past sentence, and say, I would take the current model design of trimmers Remington carries and I would only ask for that one thing,, make them work the best they can,
I know the trimmers cut hair as they finally cut all the hair after 2-3-4 passes, so why can a barber cut all your hair on the first or 2, while you will need many passes resulting in a hot trimmer that burns your skin.
I think it is important, safety wise, and time wise, I love being able to grab a tool that does its job the first time and every time after,,,

Thanks for all these informative blogs. A few final questions here:
-.
- Choose 2 products (with photos) of products you'd be most
likely to buy in the electric shave / groom section. Can you recall
anything in this section? Words, products, something that may have
caught your attention and blog about it.
- Can you tell me what Remington seems to do well in terms of features,
technology, design, kinds, of products, etc? What about what it does
less well in these categories? on

I would be likely to buy either of these two devices, I have had good luck with this style device in the past and had good luck with this type of shavers.
What most caught my attention was $ because you have 2-3 dozen tools that are all the same shape and function, but can range from 20-140$, what makes a 140$ shaver different from the 20$ shaver.
as they all look the same, then other than price, i notice that brands carr different models,, they are Different models, that look just the same, only different I the consumer can see is the price is different,,, so within one brand they should have differences you can relate to when looking at the boxes.
Remington brand, in terms of electric shavers, they seem to hit the target market, their products look alike to their competitors, as well as the product descriptions, the Brand name fits well on the shelf with the other long time branded shavers.
The Remington product is priced to sell, with their lower price, similar shape and function to the competitors, they are sure to capture attention in this product category.
What they don't do well, is similar to the other companies, and that is their vast selection of the same product, in the same boxes with different prices, , ,
we all know that you get what you pay for but in Remington's case, they have the largest selection of products compared to any other company on the shelf, and with that idea, I can not understand why anyone would
$$$ left to right, we have 34.97/ 34.97/ 59.27/ 49.97/ 29.97 $$$
I may be unedgucated in razors, but I can not see a price difference between product A & B
As well as product C / D ( looks the same with different prices) and product E
( E ) looks like it came out of the same molds are c &d with a different color handle.
So it is very inappropriate to ask people "
"Can you tell me what Remington seems to do well in terms of features, technology, design, kinds, of products, etc? What about what it does less well in these categories?"
People who have not used or been greatly exposed to the product,
As one of those people, I will answer as honestly as I can without having prior experiance with the product.
Remington products look like the other competing brand's products. this is doing well.
Not doing well is being on the bottom shelf with multiple prices on the same product.
